Since the beginning of Erod's Junior season at North Bergen High School he has been receiving bucketfuls of letters and information from over 50 NCAA Divison I universities and colleges hoping to steer him in their direction. The process has been, at times, very exciting, at times, sleazy, and...usually, just pretty mundane. Erod is so laid back I am sure this all hasn't really sunk in, this whole process where top universities fall over themselves trying to secure your services for their football team - while offering you a FULL scholarship!
At least, as we move into May, Erod has started to understand the importance of his grades...in only took till the end of his Junior year. But now he has finally begun to understand why his mother, his counselors and teachers at school, his coaches from multiple sports, and I have been pleading with him to open the school books. There is no question that had he been working harder in the classroom, he would have many more DI offers at this point.
But there's a LONG way to go...SATs...ACTs...and months of working-out, PLUS, another HS season. It's my hope he really takes time to enjoy this whole process, PLUS, the season that is upcoming. He will never be this age again, he will never be in this position again. He will never have another Senior season.
