Photo: Legendary NBHS Head Coach Vinnie Ascolese presents ERod the MVP trophy.For the second year in a row ERod took home the North Bergen Bruins football MVP award last night at the team's annual awards dinner in North Bergen. He's often embarrassed by the attention he has received for his athletic ability and very uncomfortable accepting awards like this in front of his teammates. Once again the players chanted "speech! speech!" as they did at his LOI Signing Party on Wednesday night but the quiet ERod silently slinked back to his booth.
And, as is often the case at these such awards dinners, he let his mother walk out with the trophy. He has always been a bit shy about taking home a large trophy when so many others get none, that he leaves the chore of carrying it to his mother or brother.
Congratulations to all the Bruins on a fantastic 8-2 season! The ERod football era in North Bergen has now officially ended.
