Playing in the 10th Annual New York-New Jersey All-Star Classic, ERod proved to the onlookers why he's ready for D1 football in helping the NJ squad rally from a 14-0 deficit to win the game 21-14.
Playing at the State University's home field (and before members of a a team he turned down a scholarship offer from), ERod grabbed an INT in each half, including a leaping end-zone grab on the game's final play. His first-half INT included a 42-yard return down to NY's 1-yard line.
As is often the case with home-cooking, the Defensive game MVP for NJ went to the local guy, in, in this case, a Rutgers recruit and cousin of the Nation's 2008 top recruit, Will Hill.
Playing back-up in a football game for the first time in his career, ERod easily outplayed starter Dominique Herald (Univ. of Maryland), who was burned on both of New York's TDs and also was responsible for three separate 15-yard personal fouls.
The game, which was to to broadcast by the Madison Square Garden Network at a later date (first time on Tuesday, June 12).
