PHILADELPHIA – The College Football Performance Awards honored three Owls-- junior PK/P Brandon McManus (Hatfield, Pa.), senior TE Evan Rodriguez (North Bergen, N.J.), and senior LB Tahir Whitehead (Newark, N.J.)-- with Honorable Mention accolades on Sunday.
McManus, who took over the Owls' punting duties this fall, punted twice for 118 yards (59.0 average) against Toledo. He also made two field goals (30 and 37 yards), moving him up to No. 2 in career field goals made (36). McManus has made 18 consecutive extra points.
Rodriguez, who was named the CFP National Tight End of the Week last week, had a career-long 55-yard touchdown reception in the second quarter against Toledo.
Whitehead, a team captain, led the Temple defense against Toledo with seven tackles, including six solos and 2.0 TFL, a forced fumble, and fumble recovery.
