Ultimately - that is what probably decided the location of ERod's next 4-5 years of schooling. After a terrific presentation over the weekend by Temple University, the fact they are a program just rebuilding meant a lot to ERod. The chance to play for a contender immediately was too much of a lure for him and so West Virginia it is.
The future chance to play would obviously been a lock from Day 1 at Temple, but at WVU there will be stiff competition at all DB positions. Despite the fact that the Gator Bowl-bound Mountaineers have been exposed in the defensive backfield all season long, they have put together an impressive list of commits for 2007, including safeties Derek McKnight, Sidney Glover, Eain Smith and Phillip Shirdan. It will take months of serious working out and dedication to ERod's college career to bring him into summer camp in top shape.
And even though this commitment has been made, it is still only verbal in nature and subject to the continued recruiting pursuit of PITT, Temple and Rutgers. The National Letter of Intent signing day is February 7, 2007 and all of the prospects are allowed to be contacted by competing schools until that is signed.
It's going to be an interesting eight weeks.
