"...tell Evan if he's interested, West Virginia has a 4-year scholarship waiting for him...we'd love to have him as a Mountaineer."
- Tight Ends Coach/Head Recruiter Herb Hand
After spending less than one quarter watching Erod's Senior Season opener vs. Lincoln High School, Coach Hand had already seen enough. Erod had already returned a punt 17 yards for a TD, and took his first rushing attempt of the season 63 yards for a second TD. Before the night was over, he would add a 45 yard punt return, and another rushing TD of 36 yards. He finished the evening with 168 yards on the ground. The Bruins of North Bergen went on to top the Lincoln Lions 44-0 to start the 2006 season 1-0. On Friday night, September 22, the day after his 18th birthday, the Bruins travel to Ferris High School in Jersey City, NJ for their second game of the season.
