It's one day and counting until North Bergen takes on Passaic County Tech for the North 1 Group 4 Sectional Championship at Wayne Valley High School. Tip-off is Monday night at 7PM.One would believe ERod is contemplating what this moment in his High School career means for his legacy. Despite a very good 28-12 (.700) career football record, the team went 0-4 in State Playoff games.
In HS hoops, his career team record stands at a very respectable 66-32 (.673) , including an amazing three year run (2004-05 through 2006-07) where the Bruins have gone 57-18 (.760) and captured one Hudson County Coviello Division title (March 2006, their first since 1977). They have also done very well overall in County Playoff games (4-2) and State Playoff games (6-2), including big road wins in the County Playoffs (vs. Bayonne at St. Peter's College in 2006), and State Playoffs (at Randolph 2005, at Paterson's JFK 2006, and at Hackensack 2007). But no Bruins team since 1977 has won a State Playoff Group Sectional Title, which is the prize for tomorrow night's winner.
These two teams scrimmaged in early December 2006 but not much is known about each other at the end of a long season, other than these are the two surviving teams from a strong Sectional draw.
