After discussing his options with family regarding his future at WVU, ERod has decided he is not interested in seeking reinstatement with the Mountaineers or re-admittance to WVU in light of a well-documented comment made regarding him by a prominent coaching staff member to an alumnus (and season ticket holder).
A family spokesperson said, "We are deeply offended and disturbed by the comment made by a coaching staff member to a season ticket holder regarding this person's personal feelings about Evan. We acknowledge Evan's missteps at WVU and await a court date to determine the outcome of the charges against him. We wish the current Mountaineers a successful 2008 season and thank the University, the community, and Coaches Ford and Hand for their help throughout Evan's recruitment process and the 2007-08 school year."
